 Natives to Water

Imagining being away from the water makes me anxious. Why? Is this normal? I grew up around water my whole life. The ocean was my swimming pool. It was where I learned to swim, where I celebrated birthdays, where I made my friends, where I had my nearest-death experiences, and where I can't wait to jump back into. Is this why I can't imagine my life without it? Or is it biological to me?

I found this article above to be such an exciting read. The ocean, no water, displays such a dramatic love or fear. What I found so interesting is this is very similar to God. Some fear God's power since it is admitting they lack it, but that is why some love God with their whole being. In This way, it is easy to see the hold water has on us. It really does make us reflect even on the power we lack. Water can end your life with one wrong current same with God. We just don't want to think about that. We still love God for all the blessings and breathe in our lungs, just as we still love the ocean for its beauty and awe. It provides for us just as God does.

The culture of water is so interesting to me as well. In Virginia Beach, where I grew up, water's beauty and awe are so present in people's lives. We drive over at least one bridge to get anywhere we feel a tiny fear, beauty, or answer no matter how often. We see beauty in it, strength, and prosperity, but with the naval presence and constant drawings in the summer, we also see mortality. These things are just daily, but it is such a powerful display or God's control over our lives.
